Rose Pila
does anyone have any complaints about this said woman ???? Why would one woman want to make so many people unhappy.......How come you live in a building, you own your apartment, but you actually have zero say in what you can do in it ??? Rose has made me so miserable in so many ways over the past few weeks.... she is always right and I am always wrong......"take it up with the board"...."their next meeting is scheduled for next year"....It's crazy how these other people can tell you what you can and cannot do......Living in this coop is like living in a communist country.....

I have learned that if you want to hear the word no, you should ask Rose Pila if you can do it. I think she may practice in front of a mirror, like Donald Trump perfecting "you're fired!" Except she says just plain "NO!". I don't understand why the Coop wouldn't allow me to put a lap pool in my living room. If I want the freedom to swim in my home, I as a tax paying American in a "free country" should damn well be able to swim from the living room into the bedroom if I want to!
I found out the an easy way around all her nonsense is just to do what you want. I was told I could not have a washer and drier in my apartment. Well I have both in a closet and no one is the wiser. I even have a jacuzzi tub which I was told is a no no. I just made sure to tip the porters that helped me out, and to cover all box marking before bringing in the boxes. So to Rose pila I say to hell with you.
Hey, people. COOP stands for COOPerative. If you have a jacuzzi and washer and dryer in yours, you risk clogging up everyone else's plumbing. THANKS. Rules exist for a reason. Why dontcha buy a house in the 'burbs where you can do whatever you wnat?
yeah jerkie
Listen I had a licensed plumber installing everthing. They make these buildings with big pipes just so that there are no clogs. How do you think the building has a laundry room if the plumbing cant support it.
With free electricity, I can run that dryer all day long. Its my right, thats what I pay my coop fees for. Aint nobody gonna tell me what to do, I do drive bys if I want to
Listen "anonymous", are you going to tell us that you have not had any problems with the Coop. Haven't you ever wanted something for your home and not been able to have it ??? Be it a wall or a washer/dryer or something else that you are "not allowed" Do you just play by their rules ? Didn't you spend lots of money on your apt. ? how could you like being told what you can and cannot do inside the sanctimony of your home....wouldn't it be nice if you could actually do as you wish ?? As for the rules of the coop, why shouldn't you be allowed to have a washer/dryer or a jacuzzi....good for you Dave....I support you taking the bull by the horns....does that really hurt anybody....it's sort of like don't ask don't tell.......
Hey Sash:
Who died and made you "Head Rooster" of the COOP. Rose Pila is a nightmare because of all the self-important people who demand to have special treatment because they think they are such a gift to humanity. This is a Coop, and the rules are there so that we don't have assholes playing loud music all night, or moving a family of 8 into a one-bedroom apartment. I've been stonewalled more than once by the board and Rose. I'm not happy about it, but I understand that I knew I was moving into a COOP with rules that sometimes screw up my plans. It's not such a terrible price to pay to live in a safe, quiet building in the middle of NYC.
when you are asking for all things reasonable, I think we should have more cooperation from the board and the people that "make the rules" by which we are bound. Don't exagerate what I am trying to say. When you got "shut out" by Rose, were you asking for anything unreasonable ?
Honestly, I was just jerkin' yer chain a little sash. I wanted to put a wall in my one bedroom, and the lovely Rose was just so directly mean in her "no" that I imagine somebody did that to her when she was little and the word and attitude just stuck. Poor woman. She could probably open her heart a little bit, but as the resident manager, she has to be tough because otherwise everybody would have washer and dryers, and food disposals in their kitchen sinks, and jacuzzis in their bathrooms and the maintenance would just keep climbing higher.
Regarding your situation, I suggest putting up some very tall bookshelves and let your animosity toward poor Rose go. That negative energy is lodged in your heart now, and to what purpose? Life's too short to harbor resentments. Do what you need to do and move on in your own family bliss.
now we're talkin'....the thing that bothers me most is that I am not and never have been looking to do something that is unreasonable...I think that the main reason she bothers me so much is because it seems as though she really enjoys having this power and using it to say NO
I am thinking of moving into Lincoln Towers. What is up with this no, no no? I want to buy a fixer-upper. Will I be foreced to live with original appliances and such? Also- One person posted that they have a jacuzzi- won't they give you a problem when you try to sell? For "unapproved" changes?
